**Thesis Title:** The I-Hotel in Social Movement and Collective Memory

**What Now:** Compliance Specialist at Jane Street  
  
History & Literature gave me an opportunity to explore and understand things that are important to me: Asian American identity, the politics of immigration, and the role of art in social movements. Combining H&L with my secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, and Rights also gave me the chance to delve more deeply into the ethnic and transnational histories I was introduced to in my concentration courses. I don't claim to know what employers want, and I didn't include "Chicago/Turabian footnote experience" on my resume, but I do think that the grit and insight I gained from a deeply immersive research undertaking would have been useful no matter what I did. More importantly, my years in H&L were a period of school-sanctioned self-discovery, and it is, in my short experience, better to go out into the world knowing roughly who you are and where you stand.
