My research moves within a constellation of Indigenous studies, performance studies, queer and feminist theories, and environmental studies. At Harvard, I have taught "Indigenous in the City," a course the examines the cultural, literary, and artistic production of urban Indigenous peoples from the late 19th century into the present. I have co-taught "Archives, Memory, and Imagination in North America" with Dr. Rachel Kirby, as well as advised multiple sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

Prior to coming to Harvard, I have taught Introduction to American Indian Studies at the Univeristy of Illinois - Urbana Champaign's (UIUC) American Indian Studies Program, as well as Global history in the History department. Additionally I have co-designed and developed an online course on Black dance performance and politics in the Dance department at UIUC.

I earned my M.A and Ph.D in History, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Native American and Indigenous Studies at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. I earned my B.A in Psychology and Gender and Sexuality Studies at Swarthmore College.  For more information on my research, current projects, teaching, and art practice, please visit my website: www.morganridgway.com
